CNN Fly to Freedom Campaign

NOVEMBER 2015

Artist Ashleigh Walters built an oversize art piece in the shape of a paper airplane to be a symbol of positive change.  She created her piece to be inspired by the monarch butterfly, it was intended as a pledge to end slavery and human trafficking.

CNN asked the world to participate in the Fly to Freedom Campaign in 2015.  Participants were encouraged to make a paper airplane and nominate two more to do the same as their pledge.

There are an estimated 20-20 million victims, including 5.5 million children.
